The Layders finally kick it off with a concept video that's been long awaited for their follow up hit, FRIDAY NIGHT. This was a collaboration between THE LAYDERS and GANJA BEATZ which features the flow-induced guest feature from FEEL D'DREAM's own YOUNG SLUGZ. Shout out to SOUL CANDI TV for letting the people get their fix of what is going to be a force of nature in the music industry. For those who missed out on THE LAYDERS MEETS GANJA BEATZ live performance and interview on CRAZ-e WORLD LIVE on e-TV, yours truly has compiled a little something for you enthusiasts. Assisted once again by the inimitable YOUNG SLUGZ and performing their next single titled LET ME GET YOU HIGH for the first time, this is sure to keep you grasping for more after you get a dose of this. 

COFI PLK

If you didn't know, the fellas were live and direct for the people of COFI at SAVANNAH MALL in POLOKWANE. The guys will be making regular appearances every Sunday, same time, same place!!! Look out PLK. You will be blessed with an infinity of soulful induced musical set.

CASTLE LITE SPRING FIESTA

If September 24 has not been diarised then I'm sure your calendar has a red circle over that date. It's all systems go for the event that officially sets the season of sun, fun and frolic off. SOUL CANDI, METRO FM and SABC host the CASTLE LITE SPRING FIESTA at WILD WATERS COMPLEX in BOKSBURG. THE LAYDERS "get iced" alongside the likes of DJ FRESH, OSKIDO, LIQUID DEEP, CUEBAR, DJ KENT, F.EU, GREGGOR SALTO, CHAPPELL, DJ TIRA, PROFESSOR, GLEN LEWIS,  CHRISTOS & VINNY DA VINCI, BLACK COFFEE, FISTAZ MIXWELL, DJ CHINA, LULO CAFE, NAKED DJ, NAVES, DIMPLEZ, DJ VIGILANTE, HUDSON, T-BO TOUCH, THE ADMIRAL & JAHSEED, ARCH ANGEL, MALANKANI, QT and many others.

And back to our regular programming...

As I had stated on our first post, we are going back to going forward. Most of ya'll have seen the pilot episode of Layder TV. The one that set it off real good although a lot has changed from then. After we give you a dose of this episode, we hope we don't have to wait that long for this show's creative team to put something together for their next long awaited episode.

Going back in time is never a wise move but there's never anything wrong with going back to going forward 'cause that's what makes it all worthwhile, if I had anything to do about it. You need moments of reflection now and again, just for your own sanity or lack of it.

At a certain point in time, there were three and in this episode, you'll get experience what quintessentially was, with no recourse to the words I've typed, THE LAYDERS.

The Immaculate Conception of the Pinky

The idea of a moniker to concentrate all efforts of bypassing a gimmick is a tool used by many and not just artists alone. The pinky is synonymous, to those in the know, of THE LAYDERS' pinky promise to the world at large. at a certain point, there were questions (and still are) of where this symbol came from. [See LAYDER TV Episode 3 - News Bulletin] A pinky promise to always "make sure we bring you good music" (thanks V The Vowel) to the best of THE LAYDERS' abilities and beyond.

Through out their journey, THE LAYDERS have been in search of many pinkies; the smallest finger on the human hand from common folk and Layder enthusiasts alike and mainstream artists up until Pinky the lab rat from PINKY AND THE BRAIN, Pinky the porn star, Pinky the Pink ghost from PAC-MAN,  and the famed fifty rand note (R50).

Where would you all be without your pinkies? It's a really great question to ask actually. Four fingers on that hand of yours wouldn't serve you well in any of your conquests or demeanours. And picture any of The Layders without a pinky when they mesmerise you with their trade - would they even measure up? It's food for thought.

THE FIRST INDIAN RAPPER - HEEMAL G

There's this rapper that The Layders have been affiliated with of late by the name of Heemal G. His material has been on certain radio stations as well as online stations but his video is what really made me sit up and take notice of him. Straight from Mafikeng and his Indian heritage is what physically sets him apart but what puts him in his own lane is the amount of effort that he is taking to make sure his skill is finely tuned for the public to finally alert them of his presence. Aided by Ganja Beatz for his audio theatre, surely his time has come.

THE LAYDERS MEETS GANJA BEATZ is a fusion that is steadily making themselves a force to not be  doubted. The whole package comprises of a 5 piece band collective (The Layders) as well as a cadence factory (Ganja Beatz) filled with a library of any beat that suits your musical tastes. This unified force have also allied themselves with heavy flow rhyme slingers who aren't new to the scene but have been afforded themselves another versatile platform to establish themselves in the hip hop game. LAYDER TV Episode 3 - NEWS BULLETIN

The Layders News brought to you by SPOON CUTLERY and WILLIE THE WEATHERMAN. This episode specifically details the departure of one of the founding members of THE LAYDERS, SERENADE AMEROSE as well as introduce the new members of the band. This episode is where the world said "HELLO!" to BOOTYBAYZ, V THE VOWEL, BARVU and CRISP.    

We also get introduced to uncle WILLIE. He hits the country unexpectedly with his own brand of humour into gig forecasting. Be sure to look out for this "original player, from the Himalayas!".

LAYDER EPISODE 4 - CONCEPT STORES

THE LAYDERS are at it once again, this time they tackling the world of concept stores. The boy SPOON does his thing with his eloquence and charm for the viewers, interviewing FEZ from MUNKS in Melville (which is now non-existent) and THESIS in Soweto. THE band do their thing blazing the stage alight as usual. Enjoy this episode.

THE LAYDERS finally get their deserved chance to step up to the plate and be on par with a bevy of South African entertainers. As the flyer states, this experience will feed the party spirit and allow them to enjoy something different and unique. 

This is where THE LAYDERS (LIVE) come in. Although stripped of a full fledged live performance, this 6 piece musical phenomena is still yet to get their due credits.
